Matthew Toller | Board of Directors

Matthew Toller is a husband, father, business owner, and passionate advocate for serving others through faith, family, and community. He and his wife, Katey, have a large family built through both birth and adoption. In 2020, they began fostering children and teenagers through the City of Virginia Beach, opening their home and hearts to young people in need of love, stability, and belonging. Their family’s heart for ministry is rooted in a simple belief: “Love the people God places in your life as much as you can, for as long as you can.”

Matthew’s connection to Wild Oak Haven is deeply personal. One of the teenagers their family fostered, who later aged out of the foster care system, has benefited from Wild Oak Haven’s mentorship program. This experience has given Matthew a firsthand appreciation for the importance of lasting relationships, mentorship, and continued support for young adults transitioning out of foster care.

Matthew has a long history of serving his community through ministry and nonprofit leadership. He previously served for more than six years on the Board of Directors of PIN Ministry, an organization serving individuals experiencing homelessness in Virginia Beach. He has also served as an elder in a local church and maintains a close connection with Young Life, reflecting his commitment to faith, mentorship, and investing in the next generation.

These experiences have strengthened Matthew’s belief that caring for people goes beyond meeting immediate needs. It means building meaningful relationships, walking alongside others through life’s challenges, and connecting them with the resources, opportunities, and support available within their community.

Professionally, Matthew is the owner and broker of Anchor Realty Group in Virginia Beach, bringing experience in business leadership, real estate, and community engagement.

Matthew is honored to serve on the Wild Oak Haven Board of Directors, bringing together his personal experience as a foster and adoptive parent, his background in ministry and nonprofit leadership, and his passion for serving others. He hopes to help strengthen Wild Oak Haven’s mission of surrounding young adults with the relationships, encouragement, and resources they need to build fulfilling, independent lives.

Above all, Matthew believes ministry begins with showing up, loving people well, and faithfully investing in the lives God places in our path.
