Empathy

In Action

CHURCH PARTNER TRAINING SERIES

The Bible is clear in its call to love, serve, and live in community with one another. As followers of Christ, we are invited to step into difficult places with grace, compassion, and humility. Together, we’ll explore how trauma, stress, and our own perspectives shape the way we understand, love, and serve those around us.

“THIS IS HOW WE KNOW WHAT LOVE IS; JESUS CHRIST LAID DOWN HIS LIFE FOR US. AND WE OUGHT TO LAY DOWN OUR LIVES FOR OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS…DEAR CHILDREN, LET US NOT LOVE WITH WORDS OR SPEECH BUT WITH ACTIONS AND TRUTH.”

– 1 JOHN 3:16, 18

How to become a church partner:

Church partnership with Wild Oak Haven is a commitment to being the hands and feet of Jesus to vulnerable populations in our community. We partner with churches who desire to equip their congregation to live out the Gospel through meaningful relationships and service. As a Church Partner, we ask your church to commit to three key areas of engagement:

  • Share the Mission: Share with your congregation or host the Wild Oak Haven team to raise awareness about how they can get involved with the local foster care community.

  • Equip Mentors: Host a Wild Oak Haven mentor training event to help prepare and equip members of your congregation to walk alongside young adults who have aged out of foster care.

  • Invest in the Mission: Financially support the work of Wild Oak Haven in a way that is meaningful and sustainable for your church.
