I currently work for a small engineering firm in Chesapeake, but my greatest joy comes from my family. My wife and I have been married for 26 years, and God has blessed us with six children—three biological, one adopted, and two foster children we are in the process of adopting. Over the past five years of fostering, we’ve had the privilege of welcoming many children into our home. Our prayer has always been that each one would leave with a clearer picture of what it means to love like Jesus.
I also have the honor of leading the young adults ministry at our church. Walking alongside these young adults has given me a front-row seat to the struggles and victories they face, and it has been a blessing to see God at work in their lives.
Through both foster care and ministry, God has been shaping my heart and preparing me for the work He has called me to at Wild Oak Haven. I see His hand in the journey, and I am humbled to be part of what He is doing.
My “why” for being part of the Wild Oak Haven team and the foster community comes straight from God’s Word. Jesus said, “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:35). Proverbs also calls us to “open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute” (Proverbs 31:8). These verses aren’t just instructions to me—they are a calling.
At the heart of it all, we are commanded to love God and love people. That is what I want my life to reflect. Wild Oak Haven and foster care are more than a ministry to me—it’s a God-given opportunity to live out that calling, to stand in the gap for others, and to show His love in a way that can truly change lives."
